Warszula was born in 1983 at the Polish State stud Michalow. Already as a foal she distinguished herself to become one of Michalows famous mares with a pronounced beauty and an excellent pedigree. Through the famous diamond cross combination with Palas (Aswan-Panel) as a sire and out of the Bandos-daughter Wacpanna (out of the legendary Warmia), she had a promising future with success as a broodmare and in the show-ring.
Warszula raced at the racetrack in Warsaw, which is the requirement on the horses that will be put into Polish breeding. Back at Michalow she was covered with Eukaliptus and she was also shown at the Polish national show in 1989. She was dappled grey and she was shown in hard competition and achieved the title Polish National Reserve Champion Mare. In 1990 Warszula gave birth to her daughter Warwara, later sold to Germany. Warwara is a valuable broodmare and was 2002 Ströhen Champion Mare. Warszulas next offspring, the stallion Warszyc, is also by Eukaliptus and he is exported to Jordan.
The first connection for the Swedish breeders with Warszula was through her son, Wadim, when he was imported to Sweden in 1997. He is the first of three full-brothers by the American-bred stallion Grandorr. Wadim has been very succesfull in the show-ring with numerous of titles, including 1997 Swedish National Champion Stallion, 1998 All Nations Cup Reserve Champion Stallion, 1998 European Reserve Champion Stallion, 2000 UK International Champion Stallion and 2004 Tulip Reserve Champion Stallion, Holland. His offsprings have also been successful, like our own Pacifica, 2001 Swedish National Reserve Junior Champion Mare and 2002 Champion Filly and winner of the Sverigepokal, Splendida 2003 Swedish National Reserve Junion Champion Mare and Sorella 2003 Scandinavian Open reserve Junior Champion Mare.
Warszula produced another son, Wytok (by Ecaho) right after the three Grandorr-sons. He was later sold to Denmark.
Warszula was a long time favorit among the foreign visitors in Poland. She was promoted in the Polish auction catalogue of 2000, when she was selected by Michalow to the Millenium-auction with the following words:
”Extremely dry and refined, as if she was taken right out of the desert, Warszula must be considered one of Michalow´s all-time most classic beauties and a perfect representative of the infinitely valuable family of Wadera through the legendary Warmia, renowned for exceptional quality”. Warszula was one of the mares that I had decided to set the foundation of Kullatorp. The auction coincide with my husband Jan Eriks youngest daughter Elisabets wedding, but after consultation with the family I got Elisabets blessing to go to Poland and bring home Warszula. At 16.02 on Saturday the 12th of August 2000 are two vital happenings occuring for the Rendahl family in a church in Stockholm and under a tent-roof at Janow Podlaski. At 16.02 is the auctioneers club knocked down and Warszula is Swedish at the same moment as Elisabet walks the aisle to be wed.
Warszula leaves a filly by Fernando in Poland and brings a daughter in utero to Sweden by the twice Polish National Reserve Champion Stallion Angor. In 2001 Warszula gives birth to Wiona at Kullatorp and she spend that year in peace and quiet together with her little daughter at Kullatorp. Warszula is shown in 2002 first at Blommeröd, were she become Scandinavian Reserve Champion Mare and one month later she is named Swedish National Champion Mare and Best in show with the highest score at the show.
We succeeded to get Warszula pregnant after three years of attempts and she brought her unborn foal with her into eternity. The loss of Warszula is heartbreaking and we can humble only be grateful for the time we had to stand her so close.
